Returning to the catwalk at Jil Sander, but now does for the upcoming summer ‘peplum’ its official debut. Vera Wang, Jason Wu, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Celine sent her models on the catwalk with a peplum – short miniskirts, sewn into the waist of dresses, jackets, blouses and skirts – often worn over pants or long skirt. The result: a new, modern silhouette.
Balenciaga also showed a new signature of founder Cristobal. Futuristic and bombastic with the clothes from the body. Broad shoulders on dresses and jackets were alternated with high-waisted pants and oversized hats of leather. The clothes are works of art in itself. Delivered in form and material.
