Milan Fashion Week : Giorgio Armani
Giorgio Armani Milan fashion week ended with a collection inspired by the water.
“The idea was to take the pearl colors. Everything is a play on light, the shiny effect comes and goes,” the Italian designer told WWD. The show began with a projection of waves and ended with a picture of the moon on the water.
Water
The collection showed a palette of watery colors and subtle gray to blue to satin and silk materials. The silhouettes were long and slender but were broken by asymmetric tops and skirts that were a translation of breaking waves.
Silhouette
The Spring 2012 collection consisted of draped dresses, short jackets, tunics and simple navy suits. As usual Armani chose the same kind of pants. This time a copy to the calf with side slits under the various coats and dresses were shown. For the evening the focus was more on embroidery and sleek satin dresses.
