DIY: Lace Denim Shorts

Transform your old jeans into a trendy denim shorts with lace.

What do you need? A wide denim jeans or shorts, a strip of lace, pins, a fabric scissors and a sewing machine / needle and thread.

Step 1 – Determine the length of your shorts. Clean the pipes at least 4 inches from the cross. Lay a ruler parallel to the old model shorts or slant to the outside edges if you use a long pair of jeans. Place pins on a horizontal line along the ruler.
Step 2 – Cut a fabric scissors along the line of pins.
Step 3 – Pin now the other leg and fold the shorts on the cross to double check that both legs of equal length will be. Cut now this pipe along the pins off.
Step 4 – Make your shorts extra tough with a frayed bottom. Pull some wires with your fingers, scissors or seam ripper.

Step 5 – Put your side bar on the edge of your shorts. Make sure the side at least 1 cm from the denim overlaps, which is easier when sewing.
Step 6 – Pin the side bar onto the shorts. Start at the cross and finish 1 cm on the beginning, this overlap ensures that the slower side loose.
Step 7 – sewing the side with the aid of a sewing machine or by hand. A straight row stabbing is sufficient.
Step 8 – Done! Try different combinations, such as gray with black lace and denim blue jeans with white lace.
